Detroit, MI has a rich history and is one of the most populated cities in the US. In 1701, French explorers founded a fort in the area named Fort Pontchartrain du Détroit (Fort Detroit) and in the late 1800s, the city grew to become an important industrial hub due to its prime location in the Great Lakes region. In the 1900s, the Detroit River became one of the busiest hubs in the world, carrying over 65 million tons of commercial shipping goods.
Today, Detroit, MI is known for its diverse culture and music influences; it played an important role in the development of hip-hop, jazz, punk, and rock. The city was named the “City of Design” by UNESCO in 2015 and Time named it one of the World’s Greatest Places to explore in 2022.
Since we opened in 2014, we made it our mission to help children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) lead fulfilling and independent lives. By offering services to families in Detroit based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), we work with families to achieve their goals.
Every element of our program is tailored for each child and family based on their specific needs and strengths. We don’t believe in a cookie-cutter solution!
Our in-home ABA therapy for autism programs starts with a conversation – what’s been happening at home, what you see day in and day out, and what you think. After our chat, we set up the logistics and customize a program for your child.
Your child’s program will consist of a custom blend of strategies for skill acquisition, behavior management, skill natural environment teaching, social skill instruction, and structured teaching methods. We’ll focus on the areas where your child needs bolstering, including:
We’ll also help you and your family with the training you need to make the program a success at home. For more information, go to our in-home ABA therapy for autism page.
We cover everything from your first phone call all the way to the first ABA therapy session:
We serve all student populations in Detroit with autism educational services for grades pre-K through high school. Our autism educational services include general education, students identified at risk, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, hearing and visual impairment, and other health impairments.
Autism educational services can improve pre-existing systems or potentially result in the development of entirely new ones. Regardless, our approach is constant – collaboration is the key! By working side-by-side with the district, administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, and interdisciplinary teams in Detroit we aim to increase staff competence in improving positive behaviors in all students.
Additionally, we utilize individual educational evaluations, classroom management systems, staff training, and PBIS/MTSS systems-level consultations, to create measurable academic gains for all students. For more information please go to our autism educational services page.
